St. Jean de Luz, France

St. Jean de Luz... the beach

The harbor

View from our hotel balcony. We're staying on a pedestrian street with lots of shopping opportunities.

Daily cafe aux lait. This morning we're having our coffee at the market. The gateau Basque is DELICIOUS.

Dinner of small peppers filled with fish mousse cooked in a tomato sauce. Was da bomb!

Sauages and serrano ham... We bought a duck saucisson.

Instead of french fries in a paper cone, in St. Jean de Luz, you get a cone of saucisson for 3 Euros.

Lighting a candle in Dad's memory. We reminisced alot about our many trips together.

Spices at the market

Three flags: European Union, French and the Basque flag.

Pelota game. The Black team won 35-33. The score-keeper.
Norm's breakfast at the market on the day we left St. Jean de Luz... In case you can't see what he's eating with his espresso, check out the close up.
My breakfast consisted of goat milk yogurt and Basque cake...

When do you go to the Guggenheim museum? Isn't that in Basque country?

THanks for responding, Glen... We go to the Guggenheim in 2 days. That's in Bilbao and yes, it is in the Basque country. We're also going to eat Tapas in Bilbao too. Now, don't get me wrong... we're seeing and doing other things besides eating... been to several museums and musical events.

But it does look like eating is a favorite activity!
